Rachel was born September 4th at 12:15am. She weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Makenzie and Rachel are 9 days apart. They look pretty similiar Makenzie is the one in green and Rachel is in white.
The day after we got home my mom helped me give Makenzie her first bath. She liked it for the most part until we took her out of the warm water. Then She let us know whe was not happy with us.
Makenzie came 9 days early. I was supposed to get induced on the 27th ofAugust but Kenzie decided she didn't want to wait one more day. On Wednesday August 26 Brett and I went to the hospital at around 3:30 in the morning because I was having pretty painful contractions. The nurse checked me and I was dialated to a 5 and 90% effaced so they told me I could stay. The first thing a asked for was the epidural. I had to wait for a while to get it because they had to send a blood sample down to a lab and I had to wait for 45 min. until the results came back. Meanwhile they gave me some kind of medicine that made me really drowzy and dulled the pain a little. I didn't get the epidural until around 6:30am. I was so scared to get the epidural but it turned out not to be as bad as I had thought. After that everything was smooth sailing. At 8:11am the doctor came in and broke my water. Then he had to leave and deliver another baby that was a c-section. By 9:30am I was dialated to a 10 and 100% effeaced but the doctor was still in surgery so I had to wait for an hour for him to finish. I was sort of freaking out because I thought that I was going to have the baby without him. The nurse kept saying it was fine and that it lets the baby get lower, but I was still worried. Finally the doctor came in to deliver Makenzie. I pushed through 4 contractions or about 15 to 20 minutes and she came out. She was kind of blue at first but after about a minute she was normal color. She came out yelling and screaming. She has some good lungs, thats for sure. The whole thing was an amazing experience and I am so grateful that she is here with us happy and healthy. Emily came as soon as the baby arrived and took some awesome pictures for me thanks a TON Emily!
Makenzie was born at 10:54am on Wednesday, August 26th. She weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 20 and a half inches long. She is beautiful and healthy and we couldn't be happier! The nurse who cleaned her up gave her a mohawk it was funny but really cute.
My family went to Utah this past week and we really enjoyed the cool weather there. My cousin got married in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday and this past Monday, which was also Brett's Birthday, we had a family reunion. We went to a lake called Willard Bay. We got to go on a boat and Brett wake boarded for the second time. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of that because I didn't take my camera on the boat but he did really well and got up really easily. We had lots of fun.
My good friend Emily took some pregnancy pictures of Brett and I when I was about 6 monthes along and they turned out really cute so thanks again Emily!
This Past weekend my family decided to go to San Diego for a few days. It was sort of last minute but we had a blast. We drove up on Friday morning and got to our hotel. We stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel, it was really nice. There were courtyards that had lots of green plants and little ponds with waterfalls. The perfect place to take lots of pictures which we did. Well we got to San Diego around 1:00 in the afternoon, droped off our stuff in the hotel room and left to go to the San Diego Zoo. The zoo was lots of fun and we got to see all sorts of animals. We were kind of in a hurry though because the zoo closed at 6:00 and there were a lot of things we wanted to see. While we were there we rode on the Skyfari Sky Ride that takes you across the park. It was so scary! Well I thought it was cause I am afraid of heights but Brett thought it was pretty neat. That night we sat in the hot tub (except for me, I just put my feet in) but it felt really good cause my feet were killing me by the end of the day. The next morning we went to the beach for a couple of hours before going to Sea World. We spent the majority of the day at Sea World and had tons of fun. We went on the River Rapids ride and all got soaked and were wet for the rest of the afternoon. The weather was nice until the sun started going down and we were all still damp. We all brought an extra set of clothes though and changed in the evening. We stayed at the park until about 10:00pm. Needless to say I wasn't the only one with sore feet. It was a long day but it was worth it. Sunday we found a LDS Ward to go to then we went back to the hotel to take pictures. After that we took some more pictures at the San Diego Temple. Then we headed home. Overall it was a great weekend!
