DIY Snow Flake Tutorial

Every Christmas my family likes to make these snowflakes to decorate with. They are fun and east to make. This is just a plain white one. We do all different colors and use glitter sometimes too. Using a Christmas scrapbook paper would be fun too!

Supplies:

1. 6 Square papers (card stock works the best. I took an 8 1/2 by 11 inch card stock paper and cut it into a square.)
2. Scissors

3. Stapler

4. Clear Tape

Here are the 6 square papers (they need to be all the same size).

Fold the square papers in half so it forms a triange like above. Then fold them in half again to make a smaller triangle.

Cut 3 slits that in the folded triangle leaving about 1/4 inch from the edge of the paper. The slits should be parallel to the LONGEST side of the triangle. Try to make each slit the same width apart.

Open the paper and this is what it should look like . . . if not you did something wrong :)

Starting with the inside of the square, pull the 2 smalles corners together till they overlap a little and tape them ... like shown.

Flip the paper over and tape the next corners together on the opposite side.

Continue alternating sides for the last 2 corners so it looks like the next picture.

(Sorry its kind of hard to describe in words)

Do all 6 papers this way.

Staple 2 of the snowfalke points together. ***On each snowflake point one side is bigger than the other. So staple the BIG side of one to the SMALL side of the other.

Add one more so you have three. (Notice how the big sides are stapled to the small sides)

Staple the 3 points together.

Now do the same thing to the last 3 points ..... Getting close to being done!

Lastly, Staple the 2 pieces together.

1st in the middle of the snowflake and then the 2 sides so it looks like this! Your Done!

I put the snowflake next to an 8 1/2 by 11 in paper to show the size of the snowflake.
