Kenzie's First Trip to Utah!

At the beginnning of November Brett Kenzie and my family and I went to Cedar City Utah to visit my sister Brittney and watch her play volleyball. She did great and they won their game! While we were up there we went to the near by mountains and there was a little bit of snow up there. We went to a park that had a ramada and a fire pit. We built a fire and roasted marsh mellows. It was fun and really cold. I got to use the blanket that I made for Kenzie. I was excited about that. I don't know if I will ever get to use it again if it doesn't start getting colder down here in Arizona.

Family Pictures

Sincemy sister Brittney was in town for Thanksgiving we decided to go to the park and take a few pics with our cameras. I found this pretty waterfall and thought it was a great spot for pics. We probably looked kind nerdy cause we just used the timer on the camera so we would push the button and then run and pose with the rest of the family. It worked out pretty well, the olny problem was there was duck poop all over the grass and it smell really bad!

Rice Cereal

So we decided to see if Makenzie would like rice cereal last week. Turns out she loves it! I was kind of afraid that she wouldn't be able to get the hang of cause she is a little young but nope she is a natural. No doubt she got that trait from her father :) She kept putting her hands in her mouth and sucking the cereal off of them, then she would smear the cereal all over her face it was pretty funny.

Doing The Laundry

I let the laundry stack up all week long until I had a huge pile but Kenzie helped me fold it!

Halloween Decorations

Last year around Halloween time I drew some pictures of cute Halloween creatures and this year I decided to paint them on wood. It was a lot harder than I had thought but I had fun doing it. Just in case you can't tell the first one is Frankinstein secnd is a ghost and the last is a mummy.

Blessing Dress

On October 11 Brett blessed Kenzie in church. It was very nice execpt that she screamed histerically throughout the entire thing! Once the prayer was over though she was okay. But she looked so cute regardless so I finally got some pictures of her and wanted to post them. She didn't especially like the dress though, it is not the most comfortable thing but she stayed calm for about 5 or 10 minutes while I forced her to be my baby model. :)

Makenzie's First Bath

The day after we got home my mom helped me give Makenzie her first bath. She liked it for the most part until we took her out of the warm water. Then She let us know whe was not happy with us.

Labor and Delivery

Makenzie came 9 days early. I was supposed to get induced on the 27th ofAugust but Kenzie decided she didn't want to wait one more day. On Wednesday August 26 Brett and I went to the hospital at around 3:30 in the morning because I was having pretty painful contractions. The nurse checked me and I was dialated to a 5 and 90% effaced so they told me I could stay. The first thing a asked for was the epidural. I had to wait for a while to get it because they had to send a blood sample down to a lab and I had to wait for 45 min. until the results came back. Meanwhile they gave me some kind of medicine that made me really drowzy and dulled the pain a little. I didn't get the epidural until around 6:30am. I was so scared to get the epidural but it turned out not to be as bad as I had thought. After that everything was smooth sailing. At 8:11am the doctor came in and broke my water. Then he had to leave and deliver another baby that was a c-section. By 9:30am I was dialated to a 10 and 100% effeaced but the doctor was still in surgery so I had to wait for an hour for him to finish. I was sort of freaking out because I thought that I was going to have the baby without him. The nurse kept saying it was fine and that it lets the baby get lower, but I was still worried. Finally the doctor came in to deliver Makenzie. I pushed through 4 contractions or about 15 to 20 minutes and she came out. She was kind of blue at first but after about a minute she was normal color. She came out yelling and screaming. She has some good lungs, thats for sure. The whole thing was an amazing experience and I am so grateful that she is here with us happy and healthy. Emily came as soon as the baby arrived and took some awesome pictures for me thanks a TON Emily!

Baby Makenzie has Arrived!!!

Makenzie was born at 10:54am on Wednesday, August 26th. She weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 20 and a half inches long. She is beautiful and healthy and we couldn't be happier! The nurse who cleaned her up gave her a mohawk it was funny but really cute.

Family Vacation

My family went to Utah this past week and we really enjoyed the cool weather there. My cousin got married in the Salt Lake Temple on Friday and this past Monday, which was also Brett's Birthday, we had a family reunion. We went to a lake called Willard Bay. We got to go on a boat and Brett wake boarded for the second time. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of that because I didn't take my camera on the boat but he did really well and got up really easily. We had lots of fun.
